Tuition

Tuition for weekly lessons and a “free absence lesson” are averaged into a flat monthly installment that covers a school year session from August 2022 to May 2023. I offer sibling discounts. Please contact Amy for tuition details.

Tuition guarantees the student a weekly lesson time slot whether or not all the lessons take place. In addition to weekly lessons, your tuition includes numerous hours of my time in lesson preparation, correspondence, event planning, and investment in professional music teaching organizations and their sponsored events. Tuition is due by the first lesson of each month. It may be sent via the student, mail, or paid online through Square invoicing, PayPal, Venmo, cash, or check. All tuition payments are nonrefundable.

Additional Fees

Annual Registration Fee: $25 per student due at time of sign up.

Late Fee: $10 added to tuition is payment is more than one week late. An additional $10 will be charged for each additional week that tuition is late.

Throughout the year I may purchase music for your child and will charge you accordingly. Occasionally, I may ask you to go and purchase music/supplies for your child. I try to keep expenses at a minimum, but materials are necessary for the furtherance of their musical education. There may be various recital/performance fees throughout the year, but I will always communicate those to you in advance so you may make an informed decision about your participation. In order to adjust for expenses, a small tuition increase will be in effect most years.

Attendance

Regular attendance at lessons is essential for a student’s continuing success. Please call, text, or email me if you must miss a lesson. There are no refunds and no “applying tuition to the next month” for missed lessons. Students missing lessons 2 weeks in a row without some form of notification will be terminated. In the event of withdrawal midyear, two weeks’ notice is appreciated. No paid tuition will be refunded at time of student withdrawal.

With studio growth, I cannot accommodate the demand for makeup lessons. In order to provide a solution to the sometimes unavoidable absence, I have factored in a “free lesson” per semester to your monthly rate in order to account for the unexpected illness, traffic jam, or emergency you may have during each semester. I do not do makeup lessons. Please treat your lesson times like a sport practice or dance practice. If you are late, I am not able to give a full lesson with other lessons surrounding your time. However, if you need to be physically absent during the semester but can still do the lesson, we can easily do a virtual lesson during the scheduled lesson time. You can just text/email me to request a virtual lesson. The only lessons I will reschedule are those missed due to another musical endeavor, such as band concert, rehearsal, etc… If those become frequent, however, I cannot guarantee a rescheduling. In the event of major incident in the teacher’s personal life, I may cancel lessons that may or may not be made up.
